The Cure for February Blues |
Since February is the shortest month it’s a great time to focus the mind on how to make a four week month work for you. The concept is that if you can do your work in four weeks in February, then you can do it in four weeks every month. Every quarter has a fifth week. February is a great time to cheer yourself up by looking at your calendar for the rest of the year and identifying where those fifth weeks occur. The idea is that you block them out of your calendar and keep them as time for yourself. You can always let things creep into them if you have to, but by blocking them out it means that things don’t get scheduled in there by accident, and it is a great opportunity to claim some time for yourself. My blacked out weeks for 2015 are as follows: · March 30th · June 29th · September 28th · December 28th

Most people have a “To Do” list to record the tasks they need to "Get Done", but it doesn't help identify what you shouldn't do yourself. For that you need a “To Don’t” list. Identify the culprits, put them on the list and defend your time by assigning them elsewhere. |
